Jennifer Hill was born, raised and schooled in Pennington, New Jersey. She attended Skidmore College, followed by the San Francisco Art Institute where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a concentration in Film and Installation.

She has been a full-time and freelance editor; writer; cabinetmaker and refinisher’s apprentice; an intern at the Smithsonian in the music archives; a coordinator of the National Tour of Solar Homes (Northeast), Tour de Sol, an electric vehicle road rally, a solar-powered music festival and sustainability conference; an on-air radio personality for both commercial and university stations and an art book publisher’s assistant. She is currently a full-time mom to four-year old Helen and two-year old Louise Hill Knapp in El Paso, TX.
